Ten Year Class Reunion

Your classmates have visited this site more than 7,000 times.
Contact us to find out how your business can be featured on this website.

Thanks for coming!

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to the various reunion events! It was great to see so many of you and catch up on what we’ve all been doing during the past 10 years.

Photos of all the events are posted! Visit http://www.lne97.com/photos to view them. Or, if you want to add your own, the name and password to log in and upload photos is on the back inside cover of your reunion booklet under the “Special Thanks” heading. Any questions, just ask.

Stay in touch! This Web site will remain active for the foreseeable future!

Tickets, dress code, etc.

A number of people have asked about tickets for the various reunion events. No tickets will be required. We will have a list at the door of who has signed up to come, and we will provide name tags as well.

Also, people have asked about a dress code for Saturday evening. It is sort of a formal event. Granted, we’re not going to kick anyone out, but suggest something along the lines of “business casual.” Certainly no need for a tux, but please, no Speedos either!

MONDAY July 16 is the final day to sign up for the Saturday main event. We need to give a final count to the Havelock Social Hall and write them a big check for the food and hall rental. Tell all your high school friends to hurry up and register! We’re hoping for a huge turnout!

-Andy

Price Fixing

We’ve dropped event prices again, back to what they were before May 1st. So, head on over to the registration page and pay for the events you are planning on attending.

Also, we need to get a firm count to the Havelock Social Hall a couple of weeks before the event. So, the FINAL DATE that you can register is JULY 16th! Contact us if you have any questions. Thanks!

You’re cool enough.

From what I’ve been told, there are quite a few people who aren’t planning on coming to our reunion because they’re not skinny enough, not successful enough, or just plain not cool enough. I just want to go on record encouraging people to take a step back and think about whether or not that’s a good enough reason to miss an event that comes around once a decade.

Here’s the deal. I’ve gained somewhere around 40 lbs. since high school. I drive a Nissan Sentra. I don’t have anything saved for retirement, and I’m not exactly running the world in the 40+ hours a week I call work. You were cooler than me in high school, and you’re still cooler than me now. I promise.

Hopefully, nobody is coming to the reunion to gloat about how they are successful, trim, and rich, and I’m not. If they are, then they are a tool and I’ll probably do my best to avoid having to talk to them. And so should you.

If you decide not to come, that’s your business. I’m sure plenty of people have a nice list of good reasons that they can’t make it. I just know that “not being cool enough” shouldn’t be on that list.

The Bulletin Board has moved!!!

As you might have noticed, this website has undergone some changes in the past couple of weeks. The major behind-the-scenes change was that the site is now powered by WordPress, a very powerful and customizable content management system. So far, there have been very few glitches with the site revision, and it has allowed me to add quite a few new features.

WordPress has a sister program called BBPress, which is a bulletin board engine similar to the phpbb bulletin board we had been using on this site. However, it is far superior to phpb in several ways, including site security, user administration, and it integrates seamlessly with WordPress.

I have launched the new bulletin board, and you can find it by using the Forum link at the top of the page. The new address is http://www.lne97.com/bbpress if you would prefer to bookmark it.

Pay for events online

We have put together a system that allows you to pay for reunion events through the Web site and PayPal. You can select the events you wish to attend, and then check out using PayPal’s secure online payment system. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can just use a credit card.

If you prefer to mail in a payment, use this form and drop it in the mail.

You can use the link in the menu bar above, or just click here. Please let us know if you have any trouble with the payment system.

The prices for each event are as follows:

Single admissions:
- Friday night Mixer: $3 ($4 after May 1, $5 after June 1)
- Saturday night Reunion: $30 ($35 after May 1, $40 after June 1)
- Sunday afternoon Picnic: $5 ($6 after May 1, $8 after June 1)

Total for all events: $38 ($45 after May 1, $53 after June 1)

Admission for you and a guest:
- Friday night Mixer: $5 ($8 after May 1, $10 after June 1)
- Saturday night Reunion: $60 ($65 after May 1, $75 after June 1)
- Sunday afternoon Picnic: $10 ($12 after May 1, $15 after June 1)

Total for all events: $75 ($85 after May 1, $100 after June 1)

These costs will go up on May 1st, and again on June 1st, so register early to get the best deal.

Corporate sponsorship levels

One of the ways we are hoping to keep the cost of the reunion weekend down is by finding corporate sponsors. In exchange for their generous support, these sponsors will receive varying levels of publicity and recognition for their business. These sponsorships provide a great opportunity for our former classmates to get the word out about their business, while also partnering with the reunion committee to ensure that our reunion event is a success! We already have one Platinum level sponsor, and one Gold level sponsor as well.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a corporate sponsor, please contact us to get the ball rolling.

Site Update: Complete

I have made some major changes “behind the scenes” to the lne97.com website which will make it easier to update as we get closer and closer to the reunion this July. Take a look around the site to see the changes, which include quite a few new functionalities.

As with any technology related endeavor, there are bound to be some bugs here and there. If you come across any problems with the website, or any strange behavior on the new pages, please let me know so I can get them fixed right away.

Thanks for your patience, and please continue to check back frequently for updates. I know they’ve been sporadic in the past, but as the reunion approaches, we will have much more new information to pass along.

The Latest: 03/02/2007

Many of the details of our class reunion have been worked out, and the event is just around the corner! Check the sidebar on the left for the basics, and more information is listed below.

The bulletin board has been busy, with THOUSANDS of visits and more than 330 individual posts. Most of them are pictures of Adam Justin partying with random women, but some of them are actually worth reading.

We’ve also received a few donations via the PayPal payment system we’ve set up. If you haven’t already, please consider making a donation to help with the costs of the event. We will be publishing the costs of each event very soon, and when we do you will also be able to send in your payment using the PayPal system.
