The Bulletin Board has moved!!!

As you might have noticed, this website has undergone some changes in the past couple of weeks. The major behind-the-scenes change was that the site is now powered by WordPress, a very powerful and customizable content management system. So far, there have been very few glitches with the site revision, and it has allowed me to add quite a few new features.

WordPress has a sister program called BBPress, which is a bulletin board engine similar to the phpbb bulletin board we had been using on this site. However, it is far superior to phpb in several ways, including site security, user administration, and it integrates seamlessly with WordPress.

I have launched the new bulletin board, and you can find it by using the Forum link at the top of the page. The new address is http://www.lne97.com/bbpress if you would prefer to bookmark it.

I was able to import all of the old posts, as well as the individual usernames and passwords. So (cross your fingers), this should mean that your old username and password should work. You will need to be logged in in order to post new topics or replies in the bulletin board. You will also need to be logged in if you want to comment at the end of a post (such as this one) on the WordPress side. If you are logged in to one, you will automatically be logged into the other one.

The old forum has been locked down so no new posts can be made over there, but all of the old posts are still there. Also, all of the old private messages are still available over there. BBPress also has a private messaging system, so you can still send private messages just as before.

I know this might be a minor inconvenience, so I appreciate your patience. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you run into any problems. I don’t expect there to be too many bugs with this migration, but you never know. Thanks!
